How to install Happ on Android and connect Grusha
Happ is a free app that understands VLESS keys. Setup comes down to two actions: copy the key from the Grusha mini app and paste it into Happ.
Install Happ
- Open Google Play and install Happ (developer: Happ Proxy)
- If Google Play is not available, download the APK from the setup page and open the file
- Allow installs from this source if Android asks
Note. The “install from an unknown source” warning is normal Android behaviour for apps from outside Google Play.
Add the key
- Open the bot @grusha_vpn_bot → “Open the mini app” → “Key” tab
- Tap “Copy” — the key is now on your clipboard
- In Happ, tap “+” → “Add from clipboard”
- Pick the “Grusha” server and tap the big connect button
Check the connection
A key icon appears in the status bar, and the Grusha pear in the mini app puts on glasses. If in doubt, open any IP-check service: it will show the server’s country, not yours.
If it does not connect
- Try the backup key — it is in the mini app too, on the “Key” tab
- Turn off battery saving for Happ: Xiaomi and Huawei close VPN apps in the background
- Make sure no other VPN is running — only one can work at a time
Frequently asked questions
- Can I use something other than Happ?
- Yes. The key is a standard one (VLESS): v2rayNG, Hiddify, NekoBox and other clients with subscription support all understand it.
- Do I have to pay for Happ?
- No, the app is free. Grusha starts with a free plan too — 15 GB a month.
